Welcome to Juice! We are a collective of diversely experienced and skilled contact improvisers assembled to grow together. Through consistent workshopping of score/warm up explorations, dialog and refinement, Juice seeks to evolve as an incubator for practice-based CI research and performance. Here's our place to document and discuss our juicy times!
I like the moments of pause. I like the fitting underneath a crab like body. I like the hooking and pulling. I like entering and exiting. I like being pulled into an exit. I notice the pauses that are given weight. I notice initiations. I notice releases. I like the release into being pulled. I have an image of the spine as a set of purely pliable discs. I like me being upside down. Tricep-cerotops. I like when our work doesn't look effortful. I notice that when we made the choice to follow at approx. 13mins we were already mirroring each other's body movement. The inner judge: I want to dance like Baryishnikov--so badly. Melissa, you have a sense of humor. I like the image of waves. Dangling appendages as waves. I like stillness. At 21 minutes, I see some new ground. I see myself calmer. I see myself looking more at you.
